What Is A Creative Brief

A creative brief is a short summary of what we want the creative to communicate from the consumers perspective.

The WHO (Consumer Problem)

The biggest mistake people make is they write out what the business problem is instead of the consumer problem. 

Consumers don’t care about the business problem, they care about their own problems and resolving them. 

The TO (Consumer Goal)

The consumer goal is the end point that tells us if what we’ve created is successful. 

The best goals are ones that we can measure in some respect so make sure that it is something we can test for as well. 

The BY (Single Message)

The BY is the one message that we want to communicate, the BY statement should directly answer the consumer problem that we set up earlier in the work. 
The problem is a lot of people are never taught how to write a creative brief.
